21 & 22 October 2023 – Revegetation at Burradoo

Bush revegetation on the beautiful Wingecarribee River at Burradoo (near Bowral).

The Southern Highlands Landcare Network under the leadership of Ian Royds has been restoring the banks of the Wingecarribee River for more than two decades. During this time 10,000s of locally provenanced and grown native trees, shrubs and grasses have been planted, many of which are now mature and self-regenerating. https://landcare.nsw.gov.au/groups/southern-highlands-landcare-network/pinaroo-planting-on-the-wingecarribee-river/

OFF members helped to plant close to another 1000 trees and shrubs over two days at a property on the banks of the river at Burradoo, along with Adopt A Tree, Southern Highlands Landcare Network and Caringbah Rotary.

The site of this planting links upstream and downstream plantings to provide a continuous corridor for fauna habitat and also stabilises banks and improves water quality, including for platypus.
